Hello. My name is Tim Londrigan and for those of you who don’t know me, I was born and raised right here in Central Illinois and have lived here my entire life. I’ve spent my nearly thirty years as a lawyer representing honest, hard-working people of this community many times defending their rights against well-financed and influential people and special interests.
I feel fortunate and confident that I have experience in virtually every kind of law case, both civil and criminal, and have argued before almost every Court in the State. That experience has taught me that we, as citizens, need to ensure that free and fair access to the Courts remains a cornerstone to our Democracy. I think it is very important that everyone have equal access to the Courts and be assured of a fair day in Court.
One of the things my father, who was also a judge, taught me was that our Country has the best System of Government in the World, and that the cornerstone of that System is the Judicial Branch of Government. Other countries have Presidents and Legislative Branches, but the United States is unique in providing a Judicial Branch where every citizen, regardless of who they are or who they have a grievance against, can be assured of having a fair day in Court. History has shown that the rich and powerful people may be able to influence the Executive and Legislative Branches of our Government, but I firmly believe our judicial system should be above reproach.
Unfortunately there is a perception here that the law doesn’t work the same way for everyone. That for far too long the people charged with enforcing the law and protecting our interests have looked the other way or shirked their responsibilities while benefiting from the same discredited establishment under which insider politics and corruption seemed to have flourished. These are the things I will be talking about during this campaign and I want to listen to your thoughts as we move forward.
I want to make sure people are comfortable coming to court to resolve their differences, by treating everyone with the respect and dignity they deserve. I want people to have faith in the integrity and independence of our judicial system and that that system works for everyone, not just the well connected. That is why I am running for Judge and why I ask for and appreciate your support. Thank You.
